The story behind FarmKit
Meet the Founder
Ethan Reimann
Founder, Reimann Labs
Growing up in Central Wisconsin, I have been surrounded by farms and agriculture my whole life. Even now at 16, I live on a hobby farm with my family, and while we don't farm at a large scale by any means, we do still keep animals like Horses, Goats, Chickens, and Rabbits, while also maintaining a rather large garden each year. These farming influences drove me to build FarmKit, using the tech and business side of my brain.
FarmKit is built to bridge the gap between local farms, and those in their community. Many rural areas across Wisconsin have small to medium sized family farms that often attempt to use platforms like Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist to sell their farm goods. The issue there is that these platforms are not often friendly to farm goods, due to the liability that comes with it. Here at FarmKit, we are a platform built for farm goods, and farm goods only. While we don't take on the liability for our customers, we do offer a platform that allows the sale of farm goods, so long as you are aware of the risk that comes with it.
I hope to continue to grow FarmKit further, turning it into a platform for local farm related events, blog posts, and more product features in the near future. I look forward to your feedback about the platform, and with that said, enjoy FarmKit!
